I would like to record a special episode of the Extraordinary Everyday Lives (eel) podcast when the first twittories story – ‘The Darkness Inside’ is complete. The idea is to record a reading of the 140 contributions as a story and release the final take as an audio version of the story.

If anyone is interested (and motivated) enough to co-ordinate a skype call where each character is read by a different person that would be sweet. Maybe a wiki page for this would be smart. Otherwise we will make do with whoever we can get on the skype call for our normal recording time (Thursday arvo’s ADELAIDE time).

If that goes well we will consider a Second Life extravaganza where we act out the story and record the video as a piece of machinima.

Ex Microsoft blogger, Robert Scoble, in this totally unrelated post on his blog encapsulates beatifully part of why the The Extraordinary Everyday Lives Show exists :

You never know when you’re gonna meet someone interesting, that’s for sure, and just shows why you should stop and take time to get to know the people who don’t seem to be all that interesting at first glance.

One thing I’ve learned is that the most interesting stuff (and the most interesting stories) are being done by people you don’t know, or who you think are unimportant.

And the thing is, all these people don’t just live in the ‘echo-chamber’ of Silicon Valley.

Following our esteemed podcastnetwork leader, Cam, I’ve decided to include the ability for any listeners to leave us a voice message.

This is done through Odeo by clicking on this little icon here:

All you need is a microphone on your computer.

I’ll include this little icon in each podcast post in future and you can get involved in the show by leaving us a voice message. Some of these we may use on the show from time to time.

So leave us a comment, suggestion or just a shout out hi and let us know you’re listening.

Ladies and gentlemen, its official – WE HAVE A LISTENER!!

How do I know?
He sent me an e/mail a few days ago and I just got off a lengthly SKYPE call with him (we will incorporate some of that into a future show).

Turns out he is an ex-musician of the Woodstock era who is now unfortunately a wheelchair user and unable to play piano. Ours was the first podcast he ever heard – he found it because he had just downloaded an RSS aggregator with TPN shows ‘pre-subscribed’. The name of our show caught his interest as did the fact that Dave too is ‘chairbound’ (Correction, Dave’s already there, Mike’s ‘bound’). I know he listened to the show because he comments on my guitar playing and reflects that a connection was made when our stories overlapped around I.T. Music and ‘disability’. He is working on a startup called ‘alterabilities’ which has much in common with LifeKludger and LearnDog. Who is he?

Well you will just have to stick (or google) around to find out.

Unless the ‘management’ tells us otherwise, we’ll be sticking up Show #0 (because all geeky things should start from 0!) which is a piloty-type thing we put together to introduce your hosts and as a bit of background to where we’re coming from.
